Hi, I’m Stephanie! I live in northern New Jersey with my husband, our two energetic boys, and our rescued Plott hound, Bruno. I work as a speech-language pathologist in a local school district, helping children find their voices, build confidence, and discover the joy of language.
Becoming a mom brought a whole new depth to my love for stories. Reading every night with our boys quickly became the highlight of the day, a time filled with laughter, curiosity, and imagination. Those moments inspired me to write my debut picture book, Sneaky School Surprise, a rhyming story that entertains while supporting early language development.
When I’m not working or writing, you’ll usually find me baking something sweet, exercising, spending time outdoors, reading, or simply enjoying family time. My faith, my family, and my work guide everything I do, and I hope my stories help children feel the same joy and wonder that I see in my own boys every day.
I was born and raised in New Jersey in a family that truly valued education. My parents never had the opportunity to go to college, and my grandparents didn’t even finish grammar school. Yet, they instilled in me the belief that knowledge is a gift no one can take away. My grandfather, in particular, was a constant source of encouragement, reminding me of the freedom and power that come with learning.
Inspired by that foundation, I attended Long Island University and became a speech-language therapist. Working in schools with children of all abilities has been a joy and a privilege, and I love helping each child discover their voice.
Life took a wonderful turn when I got married and became a mom. Reading together with my sons quickly became a nightly ritual, and I realized how magical these moments were. I dreamed of creating our own story—one that would bring laughter, learning, and imagination to children everywhere. That’s when the idea of writing my first book was born, and I discovered my second passion: being a children’s author.
Helping others has always been at the heart of who I am. As a speech-language pathologist, I get to guide children in finding their voices, building confidence, and developing essential language skills. Each new word, every mastered sound, and every moment of pride reminds me how meaningful this work is.
When I became a mother, that sense of purpose deepened even more. Reading to my sons became a treasured daily ritual—a time for questions, giggles, and discovery. I noticed how they were drawn to books with rhyme and rhythm, how the musicality of words captured their attention and made them eager to anticipate what comes next. It was the same spark I often see in my students—the magic that happens when language feels like play.
That inspiration led me to write Sneaky School Surprise, a rhyming picture book designed to make children laugh, think, and grow through playful language. Rhyme is more than just fun—it’s foundational. It helps children recognize sounds, develop phonemic awareness, and build early literacy skills that will serve them for years to come.
Through writing, I get to combine my professional background, my love of storytelling, and my experiences as a mom to reach children in meaningful ways. It’s my calling and my passion: to help children connect to language, discover confidence, and fall in love with words that make them giggle, think, and dream.
